Eligibility

a. Student must be a legal resident of North Carolina for the past 5 years.
b. Student must be a legal resident of either Edgecombe or Nash County.
c. Student must be an African American male or female.
d. Student must possess leadership positions in the community or religious organizations or at Edgecombe            Community College.
e. Student must provide a letter of recommendation from community leader, religious leader, or Edgecombe          County College Staff or Faculty member.                       
f. Student must have obtained a grade point average (GPA) of a 2.75 or higher at Edgecombe Community             College/or first year entering student.
g. Members of the Rocky Mount Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and immediate family are              ineligible for scholarship. (Immediate family includes: parent(s), spouse, child(ren), sibling(s), grandchild(ren),        in-laws, adopted, half, and step members).
